I have a friend who gave useful advice to me [I'm working, with too many days away but keep trying] on a novel too. She says: think of it as your novel "dossier"--keep file cards, think in scenes, write the scenes [on those big file cards]. however you choose to do [files on laptop, file cards in your purse], it can really help to do these scenes, think in scenes, and not let the big structure stifle you. maybe you'd like to give us a scene of your blog?
